The gods on Olympus: who does what on the reels

The gods on Olympus: who does what on the reelsGuide

A god name in an Olympus title often looks like decoration, but in the catalog's datasheets there are enough patterns that the name can be used as a first sort. Zeus most often appears near multipliers, cascades and symbols that pay anywhere on the field. Afrodite divides into two tracks: one version uses the same cascade engine as Ares, while another is built as a more traditional reel game with wild columns, Hold and Win and fixed jackpots. Ares is narrower, but clearer: high volatility, Pay Anywhere, tumble wins and a free spins round with rising multipliers.

That does not mean the name alone can be read as a manual. Two games with Zeus in the title can be as far apart as Gates of Olympus and Zeus Legends of Olympus: one is a cascade machine with RTP 95,51 procent and a cap of 5.000 gange the stake, the other is a five-reel line game with Mystery symbol, respins, RTP range and a cap of 1.000 gange. This guide therefore uses the god names as drawers in a filing cabinet, not as the answer. First the name, then the features, and finally the numbers the provider actually discloses.

01Zeus: the broad array of multipliers, cascades and occasional quirks

Zeus is the god who appears most often in the catalogue's data sheets, even when he's not in the actual title. Looking only at the titles, the group is more manageable: Zeus of Olympus from PlayStar, Zeus Legends of Olympus from Inspired Gaming and the many titles where Zeus is part of the theme field rather than the name line, including Gates of Olympus, Supreme of Olympus, Olympus Thunderhold, Rise of Olympus 1000, King of Olympus, Sky of Olympus, Lightning of Olympus and several of the link- and Hold and Win games. The common visual language is lightning, gold, gemstones and a godly face above or beside the reels, but the data sheets show that Zeus does not always mean the same engine. He's a recurring character operators use to explain multipliers and random rewards, but he can appear beside a 6x5 grid with symbols paying anywhere and in a five-reel game with fixed jackpots.

The best-known Zeus formula appears in Gates of Olympus from Pragmatic Play. The spec sheet lists RTP 95,51 procent, high volatility and a max win of 5.000 times the stake. The feature list is the short recipe for many later Olympus games: Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins, Free Spins Multiplier, Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier, RTP range, Scatter symbols and Wild. In our demo session on 12. august 2026 the same applied — the game behaved accordingly. At a bet of 2,00 EUR symbols paid anywhere on the screen, and the small tumble chains produced rounds like 3,11 EUR and 6,90 EUR, while free spins were not triggered. Here Zeus does not act as a figure that triggers a specific payline pattern; he functions as the explanation for multipliers landing on top of cascades, like an extra bill added to the table after the first has already been settled.

Zeus of Olympus from PlayStar looks on paper like a close relative, and in several respects that's correct. The data sheet lists high volatility, Additional Free Spins, Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Gonzo mechanic, Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier and Scatter Pays. RTP and max win are not disclosed in the data sheet. In the demo the game ran vertically on a 6x5 grid at Bet 0,20 USD, and wins were low in the short session: 0,29, 0,37, 0,28, 0,24, 0,18 and 0,10 USD. The buy panel showed Buy Bonus at 20,00 USD and Buy Super Bonus at 100,00 USD, i.e. 100 and 500 times the stake, but the demo did not execute the purchase in our attempt. Here the Zeus name still promises Pay Anywhere, tumble and multiplier, but the exact math is less transparent because the provider does not disclose RTP and the cap in the data sheet.

Zeus Legends of Olympus from Inspired Gaming is the important counterpoint. It has Zeus in the title, but the spec sheet doesn’t point to the cascade branch. RTP er 94,5 procent, max win 1.000 times, volatility is not stated, and the feature list mentions Bonus Game, Expanding Reels, Multiplier, Mystery symbol, Respins, Risk/Gamble, RTP range, Symbols collection and Wild. In the demo the base game was five reels with three rows and line wins, not pay-anywhere symbol payouts. The jackpot ladder stood above the reels with MINI 10,00, MINOR 20,00, MAJOR 50,00 and GRAND 1.000,00 at STAKE 1,00, and the purchased Win and Spin bonus used a hold-and-win grid with coins and three lives. Same Zeus name, but mechanically it’s closer to a coin-and-bonus machine than to Gates of Olympus.

02Zeus untitled: when the theme field tells more than the name

A large part of the catalogue uses Zeus as a theme without writing his name in the title. That includes Supreme of Olympus from Barbara Bang, Olympus Thunderhold from RTG, Olympus Bonanza Claw from clawbuster, Chronicles of Olympus Assembl'em from Alchemy Gaming, 3 Pots of Olympus from Betsoft, Olympus 7’s Dream Drop from Relax Gaming, Olympus Divine Reels from Spinberry, Rise of Olympus 1000 from Play'n GO, King of Olympus from Playtech Origins, 1000 Olympus Rivals from Amigo Gaming, Sky of Olympus from Formula Spin, Royalty of Olympus Xmas from Barbara Bang, Fortune of Olympus from Pragmatic Play, Glory of Olympus Xmas from gametimetec and several others. It's a big drawer, and that's why it's also the most dangerous to read too quickly. Zeus in the theme field can mean cascades and random multipliers, but it can also mean Hold and Win, respins or fixed jackpots.

The cascade variant is most visible in Supreme of Olympus, Olympus Thunderhold, Olympus Bonanza Claw, Rise of Olympus 1000, Sky of Olympus, Royalty of Olympus Xmas, Treasures of Olympus 1000, Glory of Olympus: Unlocked and Lightning of Olympus. They all list Avalanche or Cascading on the spec sheet, and most combine it with Free Spins, Free Spins Multiplier, Multiplier, Pay Anywhere and Random multiplier. The numbers show the differences within the same Zeus template: Supreme of Olympus lists RTP 96 percent, high volatility and 15,000x stake; Olympus Thunderhold 95,74 percent, high volatility and 2,500x; Rise of Olympus 1000 96,24 percent, high volatility and 60,000x; Lightning of Olympus 96,5 percent, high volatility and 15,000x. It's the same toolbox, but not the same weighting of the wins.

Rise of Olympus 1000 is a good example of how the Zeus role can be moved from random orbs to a more declared multiplier collection. The spec sheet mentions Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Multiplier, Random multiplier, RTP range and Scatter Pays, and the max win is set at 60.000 times the stake. In our demo at BET 1,00 the intro screen showed multipliers up to x1000 and text about collecting multipliers in free spins. After around ten spins 12 free spins were triggered normally, and in the round TOTAL MULTIPLIER read x6 while symbol multipliers like x12 and x2 sat on the grid. Zeus here isn't just the thunder god on the cover; he is the figure that makes the multiplier the central focus.

The other Zeus variant is the respin-and-coin track. Olympus Destiny from Amigo Gaming has not disclosed RTP, but the datasheet states medium volatility, max win 2.000 times, Hold and Win, Respins, Sticky Symbols, Symbols collection and Wild. 3 Pots of Olympus from Betsoft also lacks RTP, but has max win 13.685 times, Hold and Win, Reels doubling, Respins, Random multiplier and Wild. Olympus Coin Link from Fugaso is listed with RTP 96,12 procent, high volatility, 5.000 times, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win, Respins and Sticky Symbols. Zeus in the theme field therefore does not guarantee cascades. If the datasheet says Cash Collector, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win or Link Win, the thunderstorm has been replaced by a piggy bank, where values are locked and three new attempts count for more than falling symbols.

03Aphrodite: same name, two completely different machines

Aphrodite is the group where the name most easily misleads. The catalog has two distinct titles: Gods of Olympus: Aphrodite from Mount Olympus and Aphrodite Legends of Olympus from Inspired Gaming. Both use the figure of love and beauty on the cover, but the data sheets place them in completely different mechanical families. The first is almost a twin of the Ares edition: Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins, Free Spins Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier and Scatter Pays. The second has Bonus Game, Expanding Reels, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win, Locked Reels, Respins, Risk/Gamble, RTP range and Wild. If you only read the name, it's like sorting tools by the color of the handle; it looks nice, but doesn't say enough about what it's actually for.

Gods of Olympus: Aphrodite is listed in the data sheet with RTP 96,89 procent, high volatility and a max win of 5.000 gange indsatsen. The feature list is identical to the Ares release on the central points: Additional Free Spins, Avalanche, Bonus Bet, Buy Feature, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier, Scatter Pays and Scatter symbols. In our demo the grid was 6x5, symbols paid anywhere on the screen, and free spins could be bought for 200,00 USD at Bet 2,00 USD, i.e. 100 times the stake. The purchase triggered 15 free spins, and the multiplier column was 3x, while the win grew from 6,00 USD to 8,10 USD and on to 12,30 USD with 13 spins remaining. So the Aphrodite name does not hide a mild engine; volatility is high, and the core feature is the same tumble-plus-multiplier architecture as Ares.

Aphrodite Legends of Olympus fra Inspired Gaming ligger et andet sted. Databladet angiver RTP 94,5 procent, maksgevinst 5.000 gange, men ingen volatilitet.

Aphrodite is therefore used in two ways. At Mount Olympus she is a cosmetic layer on a high-volatility Pay Anywhere machine, where roses, sparrows, rings and shells replace warlike symbols but do not fundamentally change the engine. At Inspired Gaming she is rather tied to wild columns, gamble choices and a bonus structure with fixed jackpots. That's the kind of difference you can't see from the title. It appears in the data sheets' features field, and in this case the Aphrodite group becomes a clear example of why the names of the gods should only be used as a first indication, not as a final decision.

04Ares: high volatility as the name's clearest promise

Ares appears in the catalogue as Gods of Olympus: Ares from Mount Olympus, and precisely because the group only has one pure title, the pattern is sharper. The datasheet lists RTP 96,77 procent, high volatility and a max win of 5.000 times the stake. The feature list corresponds to the classic cascade engine: Additional Free Spins, Avalanche, Bonus Bet, Buy Feature, Cascading, Free Spins, Free Spins Multiplier, Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier, Scatter Pays and Scatter symbols. The theme fields mention helmet, shield, war theme, warrior and weapons, but the important thing is not that Ares is a war god. The important thing is that the provider uses him on a machine where the swings are marked high, and where wins are built through tumble sequences and multipliers.

In the demo the Ares edition was practically a mechanical sibling to the Afrodite edition from the same provider. The grid was 6x5, the text above the reels said symbols pay anywhere on the screen, and the game could, according to the screen, pay up to 5.000 times the stake. At Bet 2,00 USD tumble wins landed at 2,00 USD and 3,00 USD. The latter consisted of nine Cerberus symbols to 1,00 USD and eight swords to 2,00 USD in the payout panel. These are not large outcomes by themselves, but they show how the base game adds up small parts before free spins and the multiplier column have to do the rest of the work.

The Free spins purchase cost 200.00 USD at a Bet of 2.00 USD, i.e. 100 times the stake. After the purchase the balance dropped from 987.20 to 787.20 USD, and the round started with 15 free spins. In the bonus round the multiplier column was at 3x, and the win grew to 8.40 USD along the way. The rules also showed the symbol values: the elephant pays x50 for 12-30 symbols, the rhinoceros x25, Cerberus x15 and the eagle x12, while the low symbols are x2 to x4 for 12-30 symbols. The Ares name therefore does not point to a distinct war feature, but to a high-volatility version of the same Pay Anywhere math, where the symbol set is harsher in character.

Compared with the Afrodite edition from Mount Olympus, the differences in the spec sheet are small. Aphrodite has RTP 96,89 procent, Ares 96,77 procent, and both have high volatility and a 5.000x cap. The features are the same in the fields that matter most to the player. So if you read Ares as a volatility marker, it's not because the spec sheet gives him a special rule, but because the whole package is set up with high volatility, cascades, a buy option, free spins and multiplier buildup. The name gives the folder its colour; the mechanics sit in the columns next to it.

05Poseidon, Neptune and the rivals: when the sea god rarely takes the lead

Poseidon is less often in the foreground than Zeus, Aphrodite and Ares. In the catalogue's datasheets he appears especially as a theme in Raging Gods: Olympus 2 Power Combo, 1000 Olympus Rivals, Olympus Rivals, Rise of Olympus Extreme and Unusual Suspects: Legends of Olympus. Neptune is mentioned as a theme in 3 Pots of Olympus and Rise of Olympus 1000. None of these titles have Poseidon or Neptune alone driving the name in the same direct way as Zeus of Olympus or Gods of Olympus: Ares. That makes the group more mixed, but also useful: it shows how multiple gods in the same title often means the game collects mechanics, rather than one figure having one role.

Raging Gods: Olympus 2 Power Combo from Nailed It Games features both Poseidon and Zeus in its theme field. The spec sheet lists RTP 96,12 procent, medium volatility and a max win of 5.000 gange. The features don't point to cascades, but to Bonus Game, Cash Collector, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win, Multiplier, Random multiplier, Respins and Wild. The Poseidon element therefore doesn't imply an ocean mechanic; it's part of a broader pantheon while the game itself reads as a respin-and-collector construction. Olympus Rivals from Amigo Gaming and 1000 Olympus Rivals from the same provider also mix Poseidon with Zeus, Medusa and Pegasus in their themes. Olympus Rivals lacks an RTP, has medium-high to high volatility and a max win of 1.700 gange, while 1000 Olympus Rivals has RTP 96,08 procent, medium-high to high volatility and 2.500 gange. Both have Hold and Win and Respins in the feature list, but the 1000 edition also adds Avalanche and Cascading.

Rise of Olympus Extreme from Play'n GO is the most striking Poseidon-adjacent title, although Zeus also appears in the theme field. The spec sheet lists RTP 96,2 procent, high volatility, max win 50.000 gange, RTP range, Cluster Pays, Remove Symbols, Symbol Swap, Wild and Wilds with multipliers together with Avalanche and Cascading. In our demo the multiplier ladder sat to the left of the grid and moved up with each tumble; we saw it reach x1 to x7. A partial win of 0,30 ended up as WIN 1,20 when the ladder was at x3, and later the same stake produced WIN 2,00 with the ladder at x5. If Poseidon is present here, his role is not to calm the game. It's still a high-volatility cascading machine with a very high ceiling and a ladder that amplifies fall after fall.

06Titles without a god in the name: Olympus as a common name, not a mechanical guarantee

A large part of the catalogue mentions no specific god in the title: Olympus Gold, Olympus Lightning, Olympus Coin Link, Olympus Mania: Hot Bonus, Olympus Glory Gods & Kings Link, Olympus Unleashed, Rings of Olympus, Gems of Olympus, Bolt of Olympus, Glory of Olympus Xmas, Royalty of Olympus Extreme, Games in Olympus 1000 and several others. Here the god is often moved down into the theme field, or only the broad Olympus label remains. That makes the titles useful as a control group. When the name doesn't give Zeus, Aphrodite or Ares as the key, the feature list comes to the fore, and you see how differently the Olympus name is used.

Olympus Lightning fra Wizard Games, Olympus Coin Link fra Fugaso, Olympus Mania: Hot Bonus fra Fugaso, Olympus Glory Gods & Kings Link fra EGT Digital, Bolt of Olympus fra UU Slots og Olympus Divine Reels fra Spinberry all sit closer to the respin-and-collector track than to pure cascades. Olympus Lightning has RTP 96,08 percent, low to medium volatility, max win 2.295 times, Cash Collector, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win, Respins, Sticky Symbols and Wild. Olympus Mania: Hot Bonus is set to RTP 96,25 percent, medium-high to high volatility and 3.000 times with Cash Collector, Fixed Jackpots, Hold and Win and Sticky Symbols. Olympus Glory Gods & Kings Link has RTP 96,5 percent, medium-high to high volatility, 4.280 times and the catalogue's progressive jackpot field. In these games Olympus is not a promise of falling symbols. It's a framework around coins, fixed values and attempts that count down.

Other godless titles go the opposite way. Olympus Gold from BetGames has RTP 96,53 procent, high volatility, max win 4.689 times, Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier and RTP range. Gems of Olympus from Gambit lists RTP 96,5 procent, high volatility and 5.000 times with Free Spins, Gonzo mechanic, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier and Scatter symbols. Glory of Olympus: Unlocked from gametimetec has RTP 96,18 procent, high volatility, 10.000 times, Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Pay Anywhere and Random multiplier. Here the Olympus name functions as an empty stage where the Zeus formula can be set up without Zeus necessarily appearing in the title.

Rings of Olympus from Turbo Games is the sober exception you should keep in mind. It has the highest RTP in the attached data sheets at 97,34 procent, but the max win is only 700 times, volatility is not stated, and the feature list only mentions Multiplier, Random multiplier and RTP range. Zeus appears in the theme field, but not in the title, and the data sheet does not list cascades, free spins or Hold and Win as fixed anchor points. It serves as a reminder that the gods in these games are seldom systems in themselves. They are labels that can help with sorting, but the numbers and feature fields are still the place where the game shows what it actually does. Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Does Zeus in the title always mean cascades and Pay Anywhere?

No. Zeus of Olympus and Gates of Olympus sit close to the cascading family with symbols paying anywhere, but Zeus Legends of Olympus from Inspired Gaming is a five-reel game with line wins, respins, a Mystery symbol and RTP range. Zeus is often associated with multipliers, but the datasheet must determine the engine.

Which Afrodite game has the highest RTP in the catalog?

Gods of Olympus: Aphrodite from Mount Olympus lists an RTP of 96,89 procent. Aphrodite Legends of Olympus from Inspired Gaming lists 94,5 procent, while volatility is not stated in the data sheet.

Is Ares mechanically different from Afrodite from Mount Olympus?

Only to a very limited extent based on the attached data. Gods of Olympus: Ares og Gods of Olympus: Aphrodite have the same core features: Avalanche, Cascading, Free Spins Multiplier, Pay Anywhere, Random multiplier og Scatter Pays. Ares står til 96,77 procent i RTP, Aphrodite til 96,89 procent, og begge har høj volatilitet samt maksgevinst på 5.000 gange indsatsen.

What does the Poseidon name promise mechanically?

In the attached spec sheets Poseidon is most often listed as a theme alongside other gods, not as a clear title role. Raging Gods: Olympus 2 Power Combo points to Hold and Win and Cash Collector, while Rise of Olympus Extreme is a high-volatility cascade and cluster machine with a max win of 50.000 times. Poseidon is therefore not a reliable mechanical marker.
