Unusual Suspects: Legends of Olympus — RTP 96,06 %, max 12.000×

The spec sheet gives 96,06 % RTP, medium volatility and a ceiling of 12.000 times the stake. That combination is unusual — 12.000 x is high for a game marked Medium — and it is what makes the title worth a closer look. The feature list contains eighteen entries, which is more than any other title this round.

01Medium volatility with a high ceiling

Medium as a volatility indicator normally means more frequent, smaller payouts and shorter dead stretches. That it's combined with a cap of 12.000 x is striking, because the two usually pull in opposite directions. The explanation is probably that the big payout requires a very rare coincidence in the bonus round, while the base game is kept even.

For the player this means in practice a game where the session feels more stable than in the high-volatile cascade titles, but where the top is still there as a theoretical possibility. It is a balance I generally prefer, because it does not require a large budget to reach the bonus mechanics.

96,06 % is, however, on the low side. It's below the average, and with RTP range on the list the figure can be even lower at an individual operator. Check the game's info screen.

02Eighteen features is a lot.

The list includes, among other things, Expanding Symbols, Nudge Feature, Random Wilds, Wilds with multipliers, Respins, Bonus Game, Symbols collection (Energy), Fixed Jackpots and Feature: Substitution Symbols. It's an unusually dense packing, and my experience is that when a data sheet is so full, most entries are small variations within the same round.

The Nudge Feature is the most concrete: a symbol that doesn't fully land is pushed one position up or down so it counts. Expanding Symbols covers figures that occupy an entire column. Together the two create a very visible form of near-win that is resolved — it's fun to watch, but it's also a mechanic designed to feel generous.

Substitution Symbols and Random Wilds are both ways to add wilds during a round. Combined with Wilds with multipliers, that's where the big outcomes should come from.

03The cast as a symbol set

The series title Unusual Suspects suggests the gods are treated as characters with individual traits rather than as mere symbol values. The theme list — book, harp, helmet, sword, treasure, adventure — supports that effort has gone into the object set and not just slapping card values on the low positions.

Fixed Jackpots means fixed prize levels, which are usually claimed through a separate round. Amounts and tiers are not specified in the material I have, so I leave it open. Symbols collection (Energy) points to a meter that fills over several spins and triggers something when it is full.

Buy Feature is also present. In a game with medium volatility the buy button is less necessary than in the hard cascade titles, because the bonus round is already within reach, but it's there for those who want to skip ahead.

04Read the RTP range in the fine print

RTP range is the item on the list I pay most attention to. When the base value is already only 96,06 %, a lower configuration can quickly pull the title down to a level where it's not worth playing. Some studios deliver variants down as low as 94 percent to operators who want it.

There is no shortcut here: the number must be found in the game's info screen at the specific operator you're with. If it says 96,06, er det fint til prisen. Står der noget med 94, ville jeg lukke fanen.
