Royalty of Olympus Extreme — review

The release is dated 15. april 2025, and the feature list is long and familiar. But a game must be judged on what the provider actually presents, and here the basis for the most important part of the evaluation is missing.

01When the return percentage isn't listed anywhere

RTP is the only parameter that tells you about the game's long-term cost. Without it you don't know whether you're paying three or six percent of each stake to the house — and the difference is twice as large over time.

Missing RTP in the catalog data doesn't mean the game doesn't have one. It's shown in the game's own info panel at the operator you play with, and you should look it up there before you stake a krone. I don't guess at a number, and you shouldn't accept a review that does.

The same applies to volatility. It is not stated, and although the feature list points toward high volatility, that is an inference, not a disclosure.

02What the feature list actually promises

On the other hand, here's something to work with. Avalanche and Cascading describe the drop engine: winning symbols disappear, new ones fall down, the chain continues. Gonzo mechanic is also listed, which points to a multiplier that increases for each win in the same sequence.

Pay Anywhere removes the lines — symbols just need to be present in number. Scatter symbols trigger free spins, Additional Free Spins extend the round, and Free Spins Multiplier points to an accumulating factor in the bonus.

That is exactly the formula half the category runs. There is nothing in the list that explains the word Extreme in the title other than the high cap.

A cap of 15,000 times the stake is high and matches Games in Olympus 1000 and Lightning of Olympus. But the cap alone says nothing about how likely it is, or what the rest of the distribution looks like.

Two games can have the same maximum and still behave completely differently: one with 96,5 % and frequent mid-size wins, the other with 94 % and an almost empty base game. Without the RTP number you can't distinguish them from each other.

That is why 15.000x here is a marketing figure rather than information. It is not untrue — it is just not enough to evaluate anything.

04How you should approach it

Barbara Bang is a small studio with limited documentation, and that is probably the explanation for the empty fields rather than any intent. But from the player's perspective the reason doesn't matter — the result is the same.

My recommendation is simple: open the game's info panel at your operator, find the RTP line, and compare it with the 96,5 % you can get in several other Olympus titles with the same cap. If the figure is below 96, there are better alternatives in the same category that you can find on this site.
